If I had my child to raise over again

I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd finger paint more and point fingers less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.
I'd see the oak tree in the acorn more often.
I would be firm less often and affirm much more.
I'd model less about the love of power, And more about the power of love.

Reve's Hospital Stay May 11 -13, 2009

Went to The Village next to the Jurong Bird Park on Mother's Day to attend Piak Sim's wedding luncheon @ Ah Yat Seafood, great food! Nice meeting up with old colleagues, having lost touch for a couple of years...
Went home, and felt that Reve is very hot during his evening bath, took temperatue and was slightly higher than 39 degrees c, immediately went to a GP, who said that he is teething and is having a throat infection.
However, after 3 round of fever medicine, he feels even hotter early next day morning, rushed to KKH A & E, who gave him a medicine and ask to stay for 2 hrs to observe. After 2 hrs, he was admitted for acute bronchiolities or ALTB as they call it. Stayed for 3 days, 2 nights there...My poor darling...

Updates

Reve can crawl very well now, been eating very well and sleeping very well.... :D

Awww... he feels like a big boy now, he used to be so small and now he's such a person.

Yesterday I received my very 1st Mother's Day card, a heart shaped paper cut out, with 3 simple words and Reve's name on it, but it instantly brings a smile to my face and I had to give my boy a big kiss when he handed it to me (well, luckily I took it fast, he's gonna stuff that piece of paper into his mouth already...)
Mummy loves you, my handsome boy!

Growing Milestones

Reve started his solids!
He seems to lurve them, slurping them up and didnt show any allergies to anything ~
So far I have given him.....
Commercial purchased:
- infant white rice cereal, brown rice with ikan bilis
Homemade:
- carrot puree with milk and white rice cereal
- apple puree
I intend to let him try mashed sweet potato and then mashed banana next (1 new food each time, so that I can trace easily if he shows any signs of allergies). I prefer to make them myself coz itz not only cheaper, I can be assured that there are no other additives in whatever he is eating for the first time in his life.
And I am having so much fun making all the different food for him, after all the single food trials, I will make some meat dishes and combinations, as well as start him on porridge... so exciting ~~ "claps hands"

5 Instant Stress Soothers - Note to Self

Be a better breather. "When you make a conscious effort to breathe deeper, it naturally brings your body back to a more relaxed state," Place your hand on your stomach and watch it rise as you inhale for a count of 3 or 4; hold your breath for the same count, and then exhale for as long as comfortable and watch your belly fall.

Look forward to something. Each morning, think about one little, enjoyable thing you plan to do that day (the crossword puzzle) and one bigger pleasure on the horizon (your trip to the mountains). This ritual trains your brain to focus away from what can go wrong that day.

Make a small change to your routine. "Unpredictable events can cause the most stress," "If you cultivate even a little bit of surprise in your life, it helps keep your cognitive responses flexible and helps you handle whatever life throws your way." Take a new cardio class or pick a cuisine you've never tried. (HallÄ, Scandinavian!)

Convert Monday into Funday. The flip side to TGIF is OMGIM: Oh, my God, it's Monday! In fact, more heart attacks occur on Mondays than on any other day. Schedule a weekly lunch with a friend or take a class you love on Mondays so you'll look forward to the start of the week.

Come home 15 minutes late. After work, walk home or listen to music at a pretty scenic spot before you burst through your front door. "Don't look at it as a waste of time," "It's an important way of decompressing and transitioning back to home life."
